General Information

My current research mainly focuses on numerical investigation of mitral valve surgeries, the function of the failing heart, and the mechanics of the blood circulation in the placenta. The goal of my research is to understand the mechanisms of cardiovascular disease and provide insights that may help offering viable solutions for them. Additional current research topics are spinal cord injuries and biomimetic concepts for ventilation of interior spaces.

Research

Numerical models: Fluid–structure interaction (FSI), computational fluid dynamics (CFD), finite element method (FEM)

Biomechanics: Heart valves, Cardiovascular device
