We develop new neuroimaging methods for looking at the workings of the human brain using magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) and imaging (MRI). To do so, we combine ideas from spin physics, advanced signal processing and information theory. We have two major goals: to develop better ways of detecting and monitoring major diseases, including multiple sclerosis, traumatic brain injury and Alzheimer's Disease; and to understand how the brain encodes new information on multiple neurochemical, electrophysiological and structural levels (i.e. functional MRS)
