Simulation-based analyses of Human-Machine collaboration for solving inventory replenishment problems

Yoav Cnaani, M.Sc. student at the department of Industrial

Advisor:Prof. Joachim Meyer

Abstract:

Today AI has gained overwhelming popularity. Its uses extend from personal use, to intelligent and elaborate operational systems. However, examining the expedience and implications of embedding such systems in key organizational processes remains vague and unstructured. in the seminar we will present our research that uses simulation-based systematic analyses, examining the interplay between different Human-Machine collaboration levels when solving the inventory replenishment problem. Using structured and gradual phases, we examine 3 configurations’ performances under gradually complicated operational and stochastic environments. We will present the simulation, mathematical formulation, and key findings.
