Prof. David Burshtein research interests include topics in information theory, communications and signal processing. In particular he works on coding methods for communications, data storage and source coding, codes with sparse graphical representation and iterative decoding algorithms, LDPC codes, polar codes, and topics in machine learning and its applications in communications and signal processing.
From 2011 to 2014 Prof. Burshtein served as an Associate Editor for Coding Techniques for IEEE Transactions on Information Theory. From 2011 to 2015 he was chairman of the department of Electrical Engineering - Systems in the school of Electrical Engineering.
