The Chair of Experimental Fluid Dynamics
Incumbent: Prof. Lev Shemer
The research activity of the chair is focused at application of advanced experimental methods to investigations in various fields of fluid mechanics, such as studies of nonlinear gravity and gravity-capillary water waves and wind-wave interactions, as well as of two-phase flows. An effort is made to support the experimental studies by application and development of appropriate theoretical models. Particular emphasis is made on application of non-intrusive experimental techniques, mostly based on extensive use of optical methods. The research activity of the chair has numerous practical applications, in particular related to development of clean energy sources
